Christmas Felt Mitten

A very good afternoon from a cold  and windy island today.
Yesterday I had a play with felt that I had bought recently....I'm a huge Pinterest fan and while pinning I came across fabulous felt creations and decided to have a go myself.....and here is the results

I started by making a template from card and then pinned it onto my felt
and cut out 2 a front and back

at this point  you need to decorate the front of the mitten with whatever you want
I went for some stars but you can use sequins and beads.....
I stitch both bits together using a blanket stitch with red DMC standed cotton leaving the top open.
Stuff the mitten using safetly standard toy stuffing and sew top together.

Using a 3mm crochet hook and red yarn make a chain of 30 stitches and fasten off.
Attach this to the top of the mitten.
Cut out 2 white cuffs stitched them together at each end and then
attached trim and attached it to the top of the mitten.

I finished my mitten off by adding some red gingham ribbon and a green button.
I'm rather pleased with how it has turned out...Hope you like it too.
Whatever your plans for today.....have a good one.

Thanks for stopping by....much appreciated!

Felt Christmas Village

A very good morning from a wet and windy island today. Brrr Autumn is here with a vengeance. I have a couple of posts for you today my first one should have been posted yesterday however hubby and I went on a grand adventure...my first time off the island since my op. I did take it easy though and by the time I got home I was exhausted.

Something different to share....I bought and started this amazing tree skirt in 1999...yes I am hanging my head in shame..

So with having time on my hands I decided to dig it out and I've promised myself I will have it finished for Christmas...
These Bucilla kits are fabulous I have to say I just love all the sequins and beads :)

Each sequin and bead are all hand sewn on individually, basically everything is hand sewn...

I have put a lot of work into this already and it would be a shame for it never to get finished...so here is where I'm at....

I'll keep you updated on my progress....

I'll be back later with a card..
Thanks for stopping by....much appreciated!
