Creating with One Layer ~ An Explanation

 Morning peeps......
Todays challenge over on LESS IS MORE  is
One Layer  ~  Wings :O)

Well out came the Butterfly Wishes again from Clearly Besotted Stamps and I had a play
Here is what I came up with

I was asked how I create my one layered cards but there is no hardfast rule in crafting....i am not saying this is the right way or the wrong way...its just my way :O)
Creating with One Layer scares quiet a few people
however do not be put off...it really is simples!
Firstly do not be frightened.....practise, play and have fun
at the end of the day if you don't like it start again its only card and ink after all :O)
The secret is to plan your card first before you put any ink onto the card
I started by embossing a border top and bottom...yep embossing adds interest to a flat surface
I also added a couple of scored lines top and bottom...this "frames" your center piece

I then positioned my frame with no ink clear stamps are fabulous for doing this as you can plan on top of the card and get a good idea what it will look like
so I added my stamps when i was happy I picked my colours...here is Versafine Black for frame which is by Papermania and sentiment and Rose Red for Butterfly

Looking forward to seeing your LIM cards this week....I'll be catching up with everyone this evening
I'm off out galivanting this afternoon

Thanks for stopping by....much appreciated!

Clean and Simple Kinda Gal....

Morning peeps....I really do adore Clean and Simple.....I never seem to struggle making this kind of card.....I thought I would have a play last night with stamps that I hadn't had the chance to ink up yet. This weeks challenge over on LESS IS MORE is things that move....people   move yeah! I missed last weeks challenge unfortunately but I intend to catch up and make a card for it anyway. Apologies Chrissie and Mandi....here is my things that Move creation.

I stamped the oval papermania frame using Pretty in Pink ink and the stamped Waltzingmouse Cameo To Go  frame in versafine and then cut it out and popped it up on foam pads and i did the same with the actual cameo. I love my cuttlebug and had to add an embossed border as i haven't used these in ages. This stunning pink striped ribbon is from SEW SWEET isn't it delish?

Don't forget to drop by and leave Chrissie and Mandi some love.

Less is More #17

 Morning LIMettes
The challenge this week over on LESS IS MORE is something a little different "Pick A Square". Love this idea. It was with real sadness that I made this card this morning as heaven has a new angel which was rather a bit of a shock to our community. This Papermania stamp is perfect in my opinion for sympathy cards.

I have used one of my square Nellies choice multiframe die I love this one too and they work so well in the cuttlebug. A Papermania gem in the centre to finish.

Well you know what I am like for fabulous service from companies.......I'm not backwards in coming forward and I love to shout about it. I cannot believe the FANTASTIC service I have received from CRAFTERS COMPANION....all my Humphrey goodies were delivered by the postie this morning....OMG they are fantastic......Marcea....SQUEAL :D Thank you Sara and the Team for amazing service.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges ~

Cards For Men

A very good morning my card for you today is one for the men. I know most find it difficult to make cards for men however i actually like making them. The challenge over on Cards For Men is no paper so this card fits the bill perfectly.

I have used my new Papermania stamps for this card, stamped using brushed corduroy distress ink. I embosssed the blue card stock from THE PAPETERIE using swiss dots cuttlebug folder.

Punched edge was made using Zig Zag border punch by Martha Stewart, Stampin up thread and a basic grey button for effect. Card Candi for that finishing touch. Hope you like!

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges ~

SUGAR CREEK HOLLOW ~ Masculine

I'll be back later with another Humphreys Corner creation for you using my freebies again.
One more sleep until the launch ....can't wait.

Flutter By Wednesday

A very warm welcome tonight boy is it windy miller today. We ventured off the island today as it was calm this morning we later got a phone from my daughter to say the school children were being sent home from school as the ferries could go off. Luckly we are home safe and sound.

Todays card is for this weeks Flutter By Wednesday challenge which has an open theme this week.

Sometime Mr Mojo likes to go a wandering when I'm  making my "Cute" cards so i like to take a step back and just have a play without having to colour in an image if you know what I mean. I luv making cards wether it be cute or non cute. I have used my favourite Cuttlebug butterfly set and the papers are by Pink Petticoat The oval stamp is by Papermania and I stamped it using versafine black onyx and then trimmed around the outer edge.

The pearls are Hero Arts, the punch by Stampin Up and the seam binding by The Ribbon Girl (thanks Bev)
I must apologise to my facebook buddies for not being about as much this week. I'm trying to cut back on time spent browsing...wasted time when it can be spent crafting.

Hope to catch up soon

Whatever you are doing this evening......enjoy! Ali x

Papermania Christmas Bauble Stamp ~ Clean & Simple

A very good morning boy is it windy. Gales battered the island last night and looking at the weather forecast this morning looks like most of the country will be getting it. Stay safe and warm peeps.

Every day this week I will be featuring Clean & Simple (CAS) Christmas cards for you. At this time of year and  with so many Crimbo cards to make this is an ideal style for making mass numbers of cards. Some I have to show are very simple some are simplish IYKWIM. Today's card is with the ever popular

PAPERMANIA CHRISTMAS BAUBLE STAMP.

Boy did this stamp cause a stir. Normally Do~Crafts retire stamps after they sell out but due to popular demand they brought it back this year too. I have only used this stamp a few times shocking i must admit but i didn't find it stamped the image well at all. So I unmounted the stamp from the wooden block and it stamps a dream now. I use a stamp board for unmounted stamps which helps cushion.

I stamped the image using black versafine and let it dry. I used my Quickie glue pen and added it to areas of the baubles then covered it with glamour dust for some sparkle. The top section of the card was scored using my Crafters Companion ultimate and the ribbon is by Anita. A quick and easy card with clean lines for Chritmas.

Well thats it for me just now off to do some housework and have a cuppa. Catch up with you tomorrow for another CAS creation.

Thanks for stopping by!

ABC Design Team

A very good morning. I have exciting news to share with you this morning. I am delighted to say that I am back on the ABC Challenge Design Team. This was the first DT postion I held and I really missed being on the team. I would like to say a huge thank you to Victoria and the girls for welcoming me back on the team.
The journey through the alphabet continues this week with V
"V is for Vintage"

I have used Papermania papers on my 7" x 5" card. I have loads of these card blanks so thought it was time to use them up. I must admit I loved using this size for a change as we get so used to working with square cards this size gets the old wheels turning.
My bug got a good workout on this card. I cuttlebugged the centre circle using a roses embossing folder and matted it onto a doily and inked the edges. The swirls and leaves are a Marianne Design Creatable. The butterfly is a cuttlebug cut and emboss die my favourite. The flowers are by prima and the gems and ribbon are from my stash.
Please drop by my fellow teamies blogs to see their fabulous vintage creations.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Hugs

Secret Crafter ~ Mother's Day

A very good morning its nice looking out this morning dry but probably chilly. Today's card is a commissioned card I was asked to make. It fits in perfect with this weeks theme over on Secret Crafter Challenge. Smashing cards from the girls this week well worth popping over for a look and join in.

I haven't been using my Cricut as much as I should so I have challenge myself to use it more. I have cut the letters to spell Mum from Storybook cartridge I think this must be my favourite cartridge not that i have many mind you but this is full of fabulous accents. Papermania papers yes still on the using up stash mood and I'm doing very well too. The flowers are made using Marianne creatables flower dies and are fabulous value for money. The leaves are a woodware punch. The oval has been embossed using my cuttlebug flower fantasy embossing folder and finished off with my favourite butterflies.

Today is clean up and footer day for me as Jack is with his daddy so I don't get him until tomorrow so i like to get as much done on a Monday as I can. Hope you have a smashing day whatever you are doing.
