Crafters Companion SWALK

Afternoon peeps well I seem to be meeting myself coming back for the last couple of weeks LOL. Yesterday was start of Christian Aid week to so another busy week. the weekend just vanished...Hubby and I were playing in a bowls competition ans we couldn't believe we got the final! However it wasn't to be on the day and were runners-up which there is no shame in as we beat very experienced bowlers and this only being our second years we are very proud of ourselves indeed.
Anyway this week challenge over on LESS IS MORE is One Layer Embossing......thanks again to Chrissie and Mandi for another fabulous challenge and fabby inspiration.
I'm loving these SWALK stamps at the moment I do love Crafters Companion and I haven't had time to ink them up so I'm making a point of getting them inked....I have used A Little Note for my card.

I decided to use Crumb Cake (Kraft) as my base card. I have admired this effect for a while now so thought I would give it a try and I must admit I LOVE it! A Little Note is coloured using prismacolor pencils. I have embossed the bottom of the card using Swiss dots. I have also experimented with my ribbon to after seeing this technique used and demonstrated by the SU girls at the SECC. Thanks Emma. A basic grey button and SU thread to finished the button off so it isn't naked as Kath puts it LOL

I'm entering this card into the following challenges ~

Dream Valley Challenges ~ "Dig out the Old to go with the New" (Old embossing folder, New Stamp)

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Happy Saturday peeps its time again for another challenge from the

PENNY BLACK SATURDAY CHALLENGE

Thank you to everyone who joined in last week........this weeks challenge was just made for me :D Yup

CLEAN & SIMPLE

and we are sponsored by the fabby 1-2-3 Stitch

........pop over to the challenge blog and read all the deets.

Here is my take on our challenge this week.

I started by embossing with my oval nestie on the card blank....This white card from The Papeterie embosses like a dream! After embossing I have used a stamp from Flower Gallery and randomly stamped the image to make a field of flowers. I drew in the stems using a Marvy Le Plume II pen using the brush end and then change to the liner end and added grass. The flowers are coloured using Prismacolor pencils and the sentiment is also from Flower Gallery set.

We look forward to seeing all your CAS cards this week. Please drop by my fellow Penny Black Saturday challenge teamies and leave them some love!

Well that's it from me at the moment....I hope Mr blogger is behaving himself from now on...naughty Mr Blogger!

Todays card is another of my design team creations for Sugar Nellie
I have used In a While by Leanne Ellis. I love this image I am getting mor and more into these images all the time I love the artyness to them. I have added hand doodled suspended hearts to the top of my card in keeping with Leannes style.

In a While has been coloured using Prismacolor pencils (my watercolour paper is off white :( so had to use my prismas)
I have embossed a cuttlebug border around the edge of the card I will make a tutorial for for this explaining how i did it as it will be easier to explain using pictures. The ribbon is from my stash.

As you know my fabby bloggy buddy Cathy and I have a CAS challenge going on between us. I chose embossing for the theme this time and this is my card...what ya think Cathy......I am soooo excited as Cathy and I are finally going to meet after about 4 years of being bloggy buds we actually feel as though we have known each other all our lives LOL this will truly be a fantastic day when we finally get to meet Love you loads Mrs but you already know that :D

Penny Black Poppy Fields

A very good morning it's beautiful here on the island this morning but it looks freezing outside....I've not ventured out yet. A new challenge is up and running over on Penny Black Saturday a fabby sketch by Pauline. Thanks Pauline I can see me using this one again and again. Fab inspiration from the DT as always. It also fits this weeks Totally Gorjuss challenge which is "As YOU like" no guesses there what i like LOL

Lots of cuttlebug embossing and lots of white LOL I think it is official I lurvs white on white (WoW)
Poppy Field has been coloured using Prismacolor pencils and cut and emmbossed usinmg nesties and the scallopped border is a Nellies choice multiframe. Swiss Dots and Hearts embossing folders by Cuttlebug.

Butterflies and leaves are Martha Stewart punches. The gingham ribbon gives it that lift and I always try to co-ordinate with the image :D. The pearls were made using a Pearl maker pen. there are two ways to use this pen you can either make the pearls straight onto your creation however if you are using coloured papers you will get a hint of colour from the pearls or you can make them on acetate leave them to dry and then adhere them as you would a normal pearl.

Well thats it for me at the moment lots to do today so better get on.

See you tomorrow for Sundays for Santas and it was my turn to choose the theme this week LOL mmmm I wonder what I chose.

Whatever you are doing today......enjoy! Ali x

Penny Black meets Sunday for Santas

Morning Peeps Sunday again me thinks this year is going a bit too fast already. Being Sunday means another challenge for the Sundays For Santas girlies. This weeks theme is "Cosy" this Penny black image is perfect for this one. How adorable.

MY Penny Black image is coloured using Prismacolor pencils and stickled within an icnh of it's life.Dovecraft papers which I got for a bargain at hobbycraft in the sales reduced from £7.99 to£3.99 bargain :D This fits perfectly with this weeks  Penny Black Saturday theme which is January Sales. The girls have provided fabby inspiration again this week so pop over and have a drool.

I have embossed the design paper using Snowflakes cuttlebug embossing folder as some of the white latt too. Cuttlebug snowflake as an extra...and a Martha Stewart Zig Zag border punch along the bottom edge. I have added some hand stitching again I actually prefer this to the sewing machine so it going back in the cupboard. the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Right I'm off to start some clearing and cleaning and maybe a little inking later on.
