Simply Gorjuss

A very good afternoon peeps, hope you are all in fine spirits today. Today's card is for the fabby challenge over on

The sweeties have excelled themselves yet again with fabby creations using the sketch provided by the lovely Judy.

Now this morning when I started this card i thought how can I make a CAS card using a sketch. Well yes I think I have achieved this no problem.

A sketch is a wonderful starting point for a card if you  struggle with your mojo sometimes. The Sugar Bowl always provide fabulous sketches and fabulous inspiration from a talented team of girlies. Anyhoo I digress ....back to my card. Simple lines doodled around the edge of the card defines the layer on the sketch. I have used my fabby Gorjuss stamp Little Goth Girl and I have watercoloured her using a mixture of mediums. Distress Inkpads, H2Os & SU inkpad.

I have used a mixture of nesties and Nellie Choice dies to create my focal point of the sketch. I embossed the white small square using Fantasy Flower before I popped my image on using dimensionals.

TOP TIP ~ When cutting out your image leave a small border around the image and it acts like a halo effect and makes your image stand out.

Well that's all from me today folks. I have visitors arriving this week for next weeks wedding. Saturday is the Hen Night and second Stag do .....naughty boys having 2 lol. All of the girlies are going out as Pink Ladies. So its all go go go..... hopefully catch up soon!

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Cute Bears Design Team

A very good morning.  Sunday again which means another challenge on Just Cute Bears

We are sponsored by Cuddly Buddly Crafts against his week and you could win yourself another cute stamp.

This weeks theme is

"FLOWERS"

The DT girlies have worked their magic for this week and we are joined again this week by the lovely Helen

Please pop by their blogs and leave them a wee comment.

Here is my card.

I have used this cute Forever Friends Bear and coloured it using my promarkers. I have cuttlebugged one side of my backing with roses folder the other side I stamped using my Simply Said stamp set by Stampin Up. The flowers are stamped using Lavender Lace also from Stampin Up on whisper white. The sentiment is from Stampin up One of A Kind stamp set. The flowers are by Prima and I have stickled around the edge of the flowers. The oval frame is cut out from lavender lace using my Nellie's Choice Oval Multiframe Woodware leaves punch  and small roses to finish. The ribbon is lush whisper white from Stampin Up.

TOP TIP ~ I you don't have ribbon the colour you are looking for you can run the ribbon through your dye based  inkpads to get a matching colour. (I will show you in the next few days the result you can get using this technique.)

Well that's it from me today, I'm on crèche duty at church this morning then bowling this afternoon. We had a super day yesterday at our Opening Day and I was on the winning team wooohooo. Well chuffed :D

Thanks for stopping by today. TTFN.

Marianne Designs Creatables ~ Frame & Swirls

If you haven't came across these new dies by Marianne Designs yet well I would say they are a must to have in your stash. They are fabulous. Keep watching this space as I love them and will be making many a creation with them in the days and weeks to come.

This is quite a busy card however as it is mainly white I think it works really well. I have used the my new Mariane Design Creatable Frame & Swirl and cut it out with mirri card I then cut it out in white card and trimmed it down so the I had a panel for the middle. I stamped my verse on to the white panel and adhered a Cuttlebug butterfly with Hero Arts pearls as a finishing touch.

You can see buy the close up that the die has cut through the mirri card beautifully. The flower is also made using a Marianne Design die. I'm very pleased with the end result of these dies and there performance, mm I think I NEED them all now :D.
*Craft Tip ~ I hope I have inspired you today to get the most from your tools. By trimming down the white layer it really added a different dimension to the die. I always try and "Think Outside the Box" when using my tools.
Thanks for stopping by today! TTFN

The theme this week chosen by Debby is "Snow"

Stunning examples from the girls on the DT.

For my card I have used this cutie trio, can't get enough of Penny Black at the moment.

Again I have used my Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly papers and some DCWV card stock. The meeces have been coloured using my prismacolour pencils and a few polychromos pencils. I have used my polarwhite flowersoft ........again lol can't help it I love the stuff.

I managed to capture the sparkle on the flowersoft today.

        * TOP TIP ~ I add glamour dust after I have applied the flower soft. This fills in any spaces that the flowersoft doesn't get to on the glue*

Hope you have a super Sunday, whatever you are doing.

Penny Black Saturday ~ Sketch by Beth

Morning all, just lol. todays card is for this weeks challenge over on

A fabulous sketch by the lovely Beth

I needed to make an engagement card for my daughter and my future SIL so thought that this image would be perfect for the job. Aren't they just sooo cute.

I have always like cute but I have fallen for these Penny Black cuties big time. I can't get enough of these fabulous stamps. Between that and Stampin Up too love them both. With pennies being tight hopefuly in the New Year I will be able to buy some scrummy new ones.

Anyway for my card i have used the heart block embossing folder. I made the squres first then embossed them. i inked around the edges for effect using a Versacolor umber inkpad.

*Top Tip ~ When using small square of card or design paper use a wet glue rather than DSST so that you have moveability. I used Pinflair glue it let me slide my pieces until they were in the right postion.*

I have to confess it was my interntion to put ribbon in the center but had da senior moment and stuck down my image before i did it doh.

Well I'm doing more inserts today :( the days are quickly passing by.

        Joy to the World

Thought I would share another sample with you.

To be honest my nerves (anyone need some butterflies lol ) for the show are so bad it's to give me something to do lol.

This is the Large Angel form the cuddly 3D Kids range over on Cuddly Buddly

This is a 6" square cards just to let you see that the large 3D kids fit easily on this size of card.

*Top Tip ~ When using nesties and embossing folders together. Emboss your cardstock first with your folder that way when you cut it out with your nesties you still get your border around the edge if your card is thick enough.*

I have dressed them this time for Christmas using the hat from Santa Large set and mini boutique clothes, so cute!!

I have 3D my images on these cards.

*Top Tip ~ is to use gel glue like Pinflair and you can move the hand around until you have the right position or put stick glue like Pritt on the back of your foam pads this gives the pads some movability*

        Sweet Sixteen

Morning all, today is my daughter Emma's 16th Birthday. Can't believe my baby is 16. We woke her with a fabulous rendition of tra la la la la la la la Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen lol. I knew this was the stamp that I wanted to use for her card so when I saw the new challenge over on WoJ yesterday it was perfect to tie it in with Emma's card.

Our precious little girl when she was 3 weeks old contracted E-Coli Meningitis a rare form of Meningitis affecting babies under a month old and was seriously ill. We were told that it didn't look good, so we expected the worst. I had never prayed so much but the big guy upstairs was with us the whole way. Today she is 16........ she had a Guardian Angel watch over her. I bought this stamp for this very reason and for this very special birthday card for Emma. I also made a box for the card as you can see with velvet ribbon as a keepsake for her.
She was delighted with it when she opened it this morning but not delighted with the fact she had to go to school.

Meningitis is a serious condition and has many different strains. Please take a minute today to visit the Meningitis Research website and learn the signs and symptoms of Meningitis and how to do the "Tumbler Test". Anyone of any age can get Meningitis or Septicaemia and as the colder months are upon us now it is vital to be aware of these symptoms.

        ~ Supplies ~

Inks ~ Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa

*TOP TIP ~ inking around the edges of your paper gives it more depth and a professional look and finish*
