Sweet Sixteen

Morning all, today is my daughter Emma's 16th Birthday. Can't believe my baby is 16. We woke her with a fabulous rendition of tra la la la la la la la Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen lol. I knew this was the stamp that I wanted to use for her card so when I saw the new challenge over on WoJ yesterday it was perfect to tie it in with Emma's card.

Our precious little girl when she was 3 weeks old contracted E-Coli Meningitis a rare form of Meningitis affecting babies under a month old and was seriously ill. We were told that it didn't look good, so we expected the worst. I had never prayed so much but the big guy upstairs was with us the whole way. Today she is 16........ she had a Guardian Angel watch over her. I bought this stamp for this very reason and for this very special birthday card for Emma. I also made a box for the card as you can see with velvet ribbon as a keepsake for her.
She was delighted with it when she opened it this morning but not delighted with the fact she had to go to school.

Meningitis is a serious condition and has many different strains. Please take a minute today to visit the Meningitis Research website and learn the signs and symptoms of Meningitis and how to do the "Tumbler Test". Anyone of any age can get Meningitis or Septicaemia and as the colder months are upon us now it is vital to be aware of these symptoms.

~ Supplies ~

Stamps ~ WoJ Guardian Angel Collection
Inks ~ Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa
Papers ~ Papermania Blueberry Hill

*TOP TIP ~ inking around the edges of your paper gives it more depth and a professional look and finish*

Thanks for taking the time to visit, you make my day!

Stampin hugs

Ali this is a stunningly beautiful card for Emma's 16th birthday! and a lovely box for memories too. thanks for the timely reminder about meningitus - we had a scare with one of my grandsons a few weeks back - but fortunately just a very bad chest infection that needed steroids, an inhaler and antibiotics - a lot for a 4 year old to cope with.
hugs, annie x
